Q. i want to know your thoughts with all the brazilian models that are flocking our country...why do we still have this colonial menality when in fact where no longer in colonial times...to know that our local models now are ignored because of foreign models is pure trash..i believe of the kayumangi beauty...mind you one of our kababyan, Rocky Salumbides who was once a balut vendor is now making big in USA and Europe signing up with ford model...bakit ba mahirap mag appreciate ng mga pinoy sa Pinoy beauty??? When alot of people from other countries define us as beautiful and we can hardly see that. I want to know your thoughts. Pic of Rocky:

A. its because pinoy people in general tend to idolize mistiza looks. the reason may either root back from what you call "colonial mentality" or simply its a normal tendency for people to admire foreign or exotic looks. you can blame advertising agencies all you want if you see all these foreign models invading print and commercial gigs but it could also be because advertising firms realize its easier for them to market their products using these foreign models (less cost/greater mileage).
